ONE NIGHT OF LOVE

Last night I walked down the street where I lived

Long before she came into my life

And as I walked to the door, like I used to before

I saw the woman that once was my wife

But the sight of her there, was too much to bear

So I turned like a man on the run

But she turned round to see and she called out to me

“Let’s go out and have lots of fun”

So we walked for a while and we talked for a while

And we kissed for a while and then

We went home for a while and made love for a while

And went out for a while again

But this love affair didn’t last for long

When the morning came I was all alone

Like a humming bird without a song

One night of love and my bird has flown

One night of love, is all you gave me

One night of love, is all I got from you

But now you've gone from my life

Away forever, never to return, far, far, away from me

But that one night of love

Remains forever, always in my heart

For that one night of love, meant the whole world to me
